About Verity

Verity Christian Fellowship, Bluett Street, Maidstone, Kent.

Welcome to the Verity Christian Fellowship website. Please feel free to come in and look around. It is our hope that even if you cannot share with us in person, you will be able to be with of us through these pages.

We believe that God designed his Church to be at the heart of the community. A place of joy and laughter, where people come to enjoy being together, and the true values of friendship and love can be shared.

It does not matter where you are from, or your background, the Church should be a place where all are welcome and all can feel at home, where all can come together for support and understanding and all can learn about the true meaning of knowing Jesus.

Ask, and you will receive. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened for you.

Everyone who asks will receive. Everyone who searches will find. And the door will be opened for Everyone who knocks.
Matthew 7:7-8

ABOUT VERITY
The definition of Verity in the dictionary is the state of being true and real, and as a church, that is what we believe in trying to be. We believe in trying to be true both to each other and to God. We also accept the Bible as the true word of God and that it is a fantastic handbook to life and true happiness.

ChatWe also believe in being real with each other. No false airs or graces. We are all human and all make mistakes. But we are all created in Gods image, and therefore we should look to find God in one another.

As a church, our reason for being is given in The Shema. This is an ancient Jewish prayer written in the Bible. (Deut. 6:4-9). It says that God should not be just for Sunday, but that he should be at the centre of our lives. That we should talk about him when we sit at home and when we walk along the road, when we lie down and when we get up. God, and the standards he has given us, should be at the centre of our lives and at the centre of our community.

This is because Gods standards are about caring for one another and enjoying each other. Not about acquiring more and more stuff but in the process becoming more and more alone.

God cares about you so much that he gave his one and only Son, and this is why, so that no one need be destroyed, but that by believing in him, we can all have a whole and lasting life. God did not go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling us how bad we are. He came to help. And as part of his Church, that is what we want to do.

“If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in resurrection.”
Romans 6:5
