Saturday, March 8th, 2008

This was sent to me in an e-mail by Sally. Unfortunately I don’t know who it was originally created by, but it is good.

Awesome!! We complain about the cross we bear but don’t realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot.

Pesach Sedar

Some of you will have heard of the Hope 08 initiative. This is not only about reaching out to people outside the church through practical initiatives but also about bringing churches together. Therefore in the spirit of Hope 08 we have arranged to have a Passover meal (Pesach Seder) with Boxley Road Church on Good Friday.

Now before anyone gets technical on me and points out that Passover does not start until the 19th April, as Christians we always associate Passover and the meal that Jesus shared with his disciples with Easter. For reasons of practicality we cannot hold it on the Thursday (in line with the events in the bible) so Friday seems as good as any.

We shall be starting at 5.30 at Boxley Road and further details will be provided about preparing the meal for those who would like to help. We intend to try and follow the traditional Jewish rituals and customs for this meal as best we can, as the symbolism of this has great meaning for us, as anyone who has attended one before can testify.

I expect this to be very popular and so if you would like to come please let Alana know by texting her or leave a comment below.
